The Advanced Manufacturing and Energy Lab at the University of Notre Dame (a top 15University in U.S. News & World Report) directed by Prof. Yanliang Zhang have openings for postdoc researchers to work on additive printing of flexible thermoelectrics, electronics and sensors using colloidal nanoparticles. The successful candidate will be a key part of an interdisciplinary team working on cutting edge research using world-class research facilities and resources. Interested applicants should send their application package including cover letter, CV, a 2-3 pages research statement, and the names of at least three professional references. All applications should be submitted electronically, as a single PDF document, to Prof. Yanliang Zhang by email: yzhang45@nd.edu.
Qualifications:
•        A PhD degree in materials science, chemistry, physics, mechanical engineering, or a related science and engineering discipline.
•        Experiences on wet-chemistry synthesis of semiconductor or metal nanoparticles.
•        Experience on nanoparticle colloidal ink-based additive printing is a strong plus.
•        Experience on thermoelectric materials synthesis and property characterization is a strong plus.
•        Successful candidate must demonstrate a strong publication record on international journals.
Prof. Zhang will join the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame in July 2017, after he finishes a successful faculty career at Boise State University. The Advanced Manufacturing and Energy Lab (AMEL)focuses on cutting-edge research on thermal science and energy conversion, additive- and nano- manufacturing, and advanced energy and sensor technologies. We integrate an “Atomic to System Engineering” approach to close the gap between basic research and system applications in order to change the world we are living in. Zhang is a recipient of the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award. Zhang’s research has been sponsored by competitive funding awards from U.S. Department of Energy and National Science Foundation, and he has directed several multi-institutional research projects with total funding exceeding $12 million. Dr. Zhang’s research work has been published on numerous scientific journals of high impact including Nature Materials, Science Advances, Advanced Materials, Nano Letters, Scientific Reports, Energy Conversion and Management, Applied Physics Letters, etc. 返回小木虫查看更多
