A fully funded PhD position is available at the department of mechanical engineering in State University of New York at Binghamton (New York, US) starting from 2018 summer/fall.  The research will be on mechanics modeling for additive manufacturing (aka 3D printing) such as composites and biomaterials. The lab is equipped with the state-of-the-art 3D printers like EOS M290, Stratasys, Objet, MarkForged, dispensing robot etc. and a lot other testing/characterization equipment.

MS/BS students in the fields of mechanics, mechanical, civil engineering, and related subjects are welcome to apply. The ideal candidate is expected to have a strong background on solid mechanics. Previous experience in additive manufacturing or finite element simulation (Abaqus, etc.) is desirable.
