Postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately at Dr. Jing Zhang¡¯s laboratory in the Oncology Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for studying the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying Ras-driven blood cancers, including but not limited to myeloid leukemia, multiple myeloma, and early T-cell precursor ALL. Current projects focus on characterizing and establishing genetically engineered mouse models for various hematopoietic malignancies, multi-Omics studies, cancer immunology, developing and testing novel targeted therapies and immunotherapies in pre-clinical models.
Dr. Zhang¡¯s lab (https://wibloodcancer.wisc.edu/our-researchers/jing-zhang/) is also part of the Wisconsin Blood Cancer Research Institute and UW Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC), an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center. UWCCC provides outstanding core facilities, including Flow Cytometry, Small Molecule Screening, Informatics, Genome Editing/Animal Models, Pathology and Small Animal Imaging among others, and UW-Madison provides a wide range of additional cores, including Optical Imaging, Mass Spectrometry and Translational Sciences BioCore. The scholarly environment is highly supportive, and laboratories reside in modern facilities with programs on stem and progenitor cell biology, microenvironment, cell therapeutics and mechanisms underlying myeloid leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma. Candidates should have obtained their Ph.D and/or MD degree no more than 1 year. A strong foundation in cellular and molecular biology, and English proficiency are required, which should be demonstrated by publishing at least one peer-reviewed research article in an internationally recognized journal as the first author. Experience working with animals and flow cytometry is preferred.
