One postdoctoral position is available involved in molecular mechanism research of tumor microenvironment in Dr. Jing Yang¡¯s lab at the Houston Methodist Cancer Center. The candidate will be responsible for the projects to identify new biomarkers or therapeutic targets within the bone marrow microenvironment of multiple myeloma for better prevention, diagnosis, or therapy improvement. The translational research program at Dr. Yang¡¯s lab aims to investigate the interplay between cancer cells and bone marrow stromal cells such as adipocytes, immune cells, and bone cells. And the association between obesity and cancer. These studies explore innovative approaches or strategies to prevent therapeutic resistance and improve chemo and immunotherapeutic efficacy and early detection of hematological malignancies. We seek a highly motivated and independent candidate with a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree in one of the following (or relevant) areas: oncology, cancer metabolism, or immunology. A candidate with a strong molecular biology background is preferred. The position is opening now until filled. The pay scale follows the NIH guidelines.
