Dr. Qiugang (Jay) Lu is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas Tech University. He was a postdoctoral research associate at the Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering, University of Wisconsin - Madison, WI, USA, from June 2019 to July 2020. He worked as a controls development engineer at General Motors of Canada Company, Toronto, Canada, from January 2018 to March 2019. He received Ph.D. degree in Chemical & Biological Engineering, University of British Columbia, Canada, in 2018, M.Sc. degree and B.S. degree in Control Science & Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, China, in 2013 and 2011, respectively. Dr. Lu's research mainly focuses on developing advanced modeling, control, and monitoring strategies for complex dynamical processes with the integration of control theory, machine learning, and system identification. Dr. Lu has received a number of awards including the Canada Vanier Scholarship (2015) and NSF CAREER Award (2024). |
